La Catedral de la Inmaculada Concepción

The largest church in Ecuador and one of the oldest buildings in the city, it has a capacity of 8,000 people. It is a religious building that combines several architectural styles: Gothic, Renaissance and Romanesque. The construction was inspired by St. Peter's Basilica in Rome and began in 1885, it took almost 100 years to complete it; on May 28, 1967 it was inaugurated.
